The Healthy Rivers Action Plan (HRAP) [ 7.8 MB ] was released by the Swan River Trust in 2008 as a 5 year, $40 million plan to protect the environmental health and community benefit of the Swan and Canning rivers by improving water quality. It will achieve this by:

Eight programs are implemented to drive a more integrated approach for future river management, including:
Although the Trust leads the delivery of the HRAP, the importance of working partnerships with state government agencies, local government, regional and sub regional natural resource management group, industry and the community is a key component in the success of the program. The Trust is committed to informing stakeholders and the community of progress in achieving the responses in the HRAP and annually delivers a Healthy Rivers Action Plan Achievements Report [ 2.3 MB ]. This report provides an update on the achievements for the year, the priorities for the next year and progress against the key performance indicators.
